Drypoint Etching

These images showcase the various stages of an etching I created. Drawing inspiration from my own photographs, I first sketched them in pen, using cross-hatching to explore shading and depth rather than simply filling in areas. After refining my ideas through a series of studies, I selected one composition to develop into an etching and proceeded with the printing process.

This piece was inspired by a sculpture at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, with my focus on translating its form and texture through the etching technique.
